Harrison-Williams Prediction

A fairly significant heavyweight contest occurs today in England between former Olympic gold medallist Audley Harrison and one-time Mike Tyson conqueror Danny Williams. The two giant Brits will not engage each other for any titles but bragging rights are clearly on the line. Harrison is undefeated and some would suggest untested. Williams followed his defeat of Tyson with a stoppage loss to Vitali Klitshko. He subsequently won a minor contest and this will be only his second bout in the last year. Look for the quicker, more skilled Harrison to chop-up the charging Williams. His southpaw-based right jab is as accurate as any in the division today. Expect Harrison to stop Williams by round 9.

Well JE...You weren't the only one! I was by no means a full believer in Harrison, but I did think he would beat Williams. If anything I figured a knockout loss, perhaps. But by decision? Nope. And my wallet is a bit lighter because of it...(lol)

As for Harrison JE--I hate to say this about any fighter with only ONE close loss, and with hvy's in general, but at his age JE;I think this loss was DEVASTATING.I think he is done & finished as a top-level serious threat.

As for the question of who is the best Hvy in the U.K? A guy who many-including some of the U.K fans-wanted to more or less 'get rid of' in a subtle way.Williams.Why try and get rid of Williams? Unfortunately,he has no 'upside'.Harrison--did.

As for Skelton,it's pretty difficult to find much 'upside' in a 38-yr.old fighter!I think that what you see is what you get with him,and to a lesser extent Williams as well. With Harrison--I just didn't quite GET what I SAW! I saw a 6'6" 250.lb Gold Medal winner-who while not very impressive-did posess some solid skills and athleticism. He just doesn't seem to have the 'intangibles' though...

I guess he wasn't 'lying' to us in those underwhelming and less-than-spectacular previous wins, huh?

P.S-I guess this would/should put Williams somewhere in the top-10 or 12 huh? Also, look out for young Roman Greenberg (Via Israel) to challenge for the title of 'Britan's best hvy' in the near future.(2006?) On our homefront, the (VERY) young Mike Marrone is really the only promising hvy prospect that I'm aware of.But he is SO young (19 or 20) and needs to fill out a bit and get up into at least the 220's IMO.Peace...

Cruiser --- Obviously I thought he had the right package -- but he just did not come through when it counted. If you're going to wait until you're 34 years old you have to make the most of it when the right opportunity comes along.

Good point JE.If I was Harrison & camp,I would IMMEDIATLY (well, within no longer than 3 or 4 months) get RIGHT back in against the best opposition possible.I know that may sound a bit crazy, but not only is there a time issue, but there may be a confidence issue at this point as well.I think this is the only shot they may have at this point.

wot a bunch of fucking tools! make the most of what/ audrey was always a bitch fist fake ass mofo. he never had any heart or the fortitude to make it in the pro's. hte fat abstard had no stamina or power, even speed. wtf kinda shit prediction was this? gay force never had a decent jab(in the pro's) and never will.he was put on queer street several times by blown up cruiserweight journeymen in his early career. the williams kd was expected. williams was not even on his a game but that was enuff to beat fraudley. everyone knew this who had seen gay force fight before. now he has been exposed i wish he disappears and i think his fans and followrs are cunts who pollute the stands at ringside! ha ha ha ha ha
