Top 25 Heavyweights (As of August 2005)

My third monthly edition of the Grant Top 25 Heavyweights is now available. I am a somewhat reluctant warrior in attempting to put words on a page this month because so many of the rated heavyweights are fighting in August. Almost without doubt we are in for some serious changes next month. Changes this month are listed by each name. I’ve also added some names at the bottom of fighters who are hovering around the fringes of the ratings.

As I expected, not much movement this month! (Aug and Sept. should provide some 'shakeup's') I think Wlad is a bit too high (I have him 9 or 10) And I think Luan should be SLIGHTLY higher (Or at least flip-flopped with Guinn) but they are pretty damn close to my own.

P.S-BTW,Roman Greenberg should be on 'the fringe' or top 30...:-)

BTW-What ever happened to Juan Carlos Gomez? I suppose he should probably be in the top 20 or 30.Perhaps Malik Scott and Eddie Chambers should be 'on the fringe' as well.Raphael Butler and Mike Marrone hold promise, but still A LONG ways away.I suppose Larry Donald should perhaps be somewhere on there as well.Ditto for Owen Beck? And BTW-Don't forget about Vladimir Virches,Taras Bidenko,Ruslan Chagaev,Sultan Ibrigmiov,Timor Ibrigmiov (no relation),Valery Chechnehov,Jean-Francois Bergeron, and Kevin (And Kirk) Johnson...(LOL!)

You really left out some big names here JE...(lol)

One more question before I go to bed.(I obviously need to!) When is 'The Invisible Giant' Niclay "Area-51" Valeuv going to be actually fighting somebody? I understand this guy had virtually no amateur experience, but he is over 30 and 40-0!When he blew through the D-level competition,I didn't take him seriously. But when he blew through the C-level comp,I had to at least take him SOMEWHAT seriously.Have you ever seen him?

P.S.I refer to him as "Area-51" because like the 'area' in question, you get the feeling that perhaps those around him know something that you do not!(And it is about as equally difficult to get footage, info, and access to him!) lol.

P.S.2-Just an F.Y.I JE,my new primary email is bizzy@seemeyer.com Peace...
